Best iPhone XR deals in the UK: Search for a bargain monthly contract deal
Looking for an iPhone XR deal? Find a tariff to suit your budget right here
Pitched as the affordable alternative to the iPhone X, Xs and Xs Max, the iPhone XR is a fantastic phone in its own right and scooped an Expert Reviews Recommended accolade in our 5-star review. With a launch price of £749, it’s still more expensive than most flagship android devices but it’s the best value iPhone of Apple’s 2018 releases and there some pretty tempting contract deals on offer to sink your teeth into. Whether you’re looking for a low upfront cost or an affordable monthly fee, you should be able to find a deal to suit your budget, data and network coverage requirements below.

The XR features many of the same features as its more expensive siblings. It runs iOS 12, just like the Xs and Xs Max, and has a very similar full-screen notched display as well as being clad in glass at both the front and rear. It even has a slightly larger display than the Xs and is available in a wider range of colours including blue, black, coral, yellow and white. The display might not be up to the level of the OLED offering of the Xs and Xs Max and there’s a single 12-megapixel camera rather than the dual combo of the more expensive models but it’s still “very, very impressive” according to our review.
iPhone XR name: What does the ‘R’ stand for?
Nobody has a clue what the ‘R’ in iPhone XR stands for just yet. Neither does Apple, it would seem, since there was no mention of the letter’s purpose in its new handset. It could be ‘Radical’, it could be ‘Rubbish’ – it could mean anything and, indeed, it could mean nothing at all. Everyone had predicted it to be called the iPhone 9, which would be the logical thing to do after the iPhone 8. But no.
We did actually receive confirmation of the iPhone XR’s title mere hours before the Apple Event, when the Californian tech titan accidentally leaked the name in its own store’s website.
