The Addon T10 is a super stylish speaker with audio quality to match its great looks

If you like simplistic design with clean and elegant lines, you’ll probably like the Audio Pro Addon T10. It comes in a multitude of colours, including the customary black and white. More adventurous consumers looking for a colourful Bluetooth speaker have orange, pink and blue to choose from and inject a bit of colour and personality into their living room. We were particularly fond of the Royal Blue model tested here.

The more colourful models have a brown leather handle that not only looks incredibly classy but also makes it easier to transport the speaker around your home. The Addon T10 isn’t battery-powered, so you might not find yourself moving it that often, but it’s a nice option to have. The Addon T10 is still reasonably compact at 320x180x166m and the 3.9kg cabinet has a nice lacquered finish.

The T10 uses a Class D digital amplifier to produce 20W per 3/4in textile dome tweeter and 40W from the 5 1/4in woofer. There’s no speaker grille so the woofer is left exposed, allowing you to see the vibration of the cone. There’s also a bass reflex port on the rear.

A 3.5mm auxiliary connection and twin RCA phono connections on the rear let you connect wired devices, while the subwoofer RCA output will let you connect a separate subwoofer. Audio Pro has its own Addon Sub, but any subwoofer will happily work. There’s also a useful USB port for charging a smartphone or tablet while you’re listening to music. A small LED indicator glows one of three colours to show which audio source the T10 is currently using.

The most convenient and elegant way to use the T10, however, is through a wireless Bluetooth connection. The T10 supports Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and uses the aptX codec for less-lossy wireless streaming. There’s no NFC for quick-pairing, which is slightly disappointing, but connecting your Bluetooth device is straightforward.

The T10 comes with a small remote formed from a single piece of aluminium, which is nicely weighted. This has power and volume controls, puts the speaker into Bluetooth pairing mode and lets you switch between sources easily.

The Addon T10 performed admirably with our test tracks spanning multiple genres including jazz, hip hop and classical. We were particularly impressed at how much bass it could deliver. Bass was tight and punchy and while there’s a subwoofer out, we didn’t feel the need to use it. While the subwoofer’s cone might have been vibrating violently during more intense tracks, the cabinet was solid and there was no rattle of the speaker cabinet.

Treble and mids were suitably delicate and the T10 did well with the vocals in our live acoustic tracks. The T10 could also easily fill a medium to large room with sound and it didn’t distort even at maximum volume. Sound was altogether excellent for a speaker of this size.

The Audio Pro Addon T10 is an excellent speaker with a classy design. It’s an excellent choice if you’re looking for a wireless speaker but don’t need multiroom connectivity. Anyone looking to stream throughout the house should consider Samsung’s SHAPE M5 or the LG Music Flow H7 instead.
